Princess Charlotte Christening: Jolie-Pitt May Be Godparents
Prince William and Kate Middleton were happy announced that the paddock next to the St Mary Magdalene Church where Princess Charlotte will be baptized on July 5 can be opened for the public. The royal family of four will march at the paddock for well-wishers to see them.
The service itself will be privately held but well-wishers will be welcome into the paddock outside the church.
“While the service inside the church will be private, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be pleased to welcome well-wishers into the paddock outside the church,” according to a statement from Kensington palace obtained by Mirror.
“The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the warm wishes they have received since Princess Charlotte’s birth – many of them from local people in Norfolk – and are delighted the paddock can be opened on the day of the christening,” the statement said.
The service will be attended by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as grandparents from the Middleton side, Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton.
Princess Charlotte will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.
Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton are the most favorite to be godparents as well as Prince William’s friends Hugh Van Cutsem and Tom Van Straubenzee and Kate’s best friend Trini Foyle.
Prince Harry, however, will not be able to attend the event as he is already in Africa for charity work.
Jolie-Pitt May Be Godparents
Rumors that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be one of godparents sparked when the couples had tea on June 26, US Weekly reported.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Pitt at Kensington Palace on Friday afternoon. They discussed their shared interest in combating the illegal wildlife trade,” a palace insider told US Weekly.
The source said Kate and Prince William, including Prince George, were excited about the afternoon tea. The three waited outside their apartment until their guests arrive. The Jolie-Pitts, on the other hand, brought a special gift for Princess Charlotte.
“Everyone got on splendidly. Brad and Angelina spent much longer with the Duke and Duchess than planned. They ended up staying for almost a few hours,” the palace insider revealed.
