What's This?

TeniPuri Festa 2016 ended this Sunday on a high note. It has been announced that “Prince Of Tennis” will have a new anime movie courtesy of manga creator Takeshi Konomi, who also made the announcement.

Konomi is serving as executive producer for the new movie, which is reported to tell “previously untold stories in the three months between the stories” that happened on the original Prince of Tennis manga and Shin Tennis no Ōji-sama, according to Anime News Network. The movie shall also tell stories not present in any manga issue.

No release dates have been announced. Not yet. When urged for more details on the project, Konomi said, “I think it’s going to be great. It will ‘double-cross’ (in a good way) your expectations, so please look forward to it.”

Konomi released the manga serially in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2008. It was soon adapted in an anime series. It tells the story of tennis prodigy Ryoma Echizen and his intense matches against numerous opponents in Tokyo.
