It’s just the beginning of Prince George’s birth month and the royal tot has already started melting hearts worldwide.
On Friday, impeccably dressed by his mom in white shirt and navy shorts, the two-year-old made his first public engagement in the U.K. George was accompanied by his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William to the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England.
However, the always well-behaved Prince George threw a royal tantrum and started crying, Daily Mail reports. Kate quickly picked him up in her arms, soothed him and put him ear protectors.
The two-year-old was probably unnerved by the noise of aircraft at the RAF base. After donning the ear protectors George looked at ease and appeared to be taking in the sights of the place.
Prince George sent onlookers and guests at the air force event into a tizzy when he walked holding the hand of his stylish mom, Kate Middleton. He was shown aircraft like a Squirrel helicopter and Red Arrow hawk by his dad William and other pilots. He asked his mom if he could fly the Red Arrow, to which William replied “Not right now.”
The little royal looked adorable in a white short sleeved shirt paired with navy shorts. The tot also wore his favorite pair of Star Rite shoes for his first official engagement, Time reports.
Flight Lieutenant Jim Hobkirk, who escorted the royals, said that Prince George appeared to be “very interested in the tail rotor.” The toddler also sat in the pilot’s seat of a Red Hawk with the help of a member of the aerobatics team. George, who will turn three on July 22, was on his first ever royal engagement and shook hands with a pilot.
“The Air Tattoo is a fantastic family-orientated event. The Duke and Duchess know that George will enjoy seeing the aircraft up close,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said in a statement ahead of the engagement. The RIAT celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets at RAF Fairford that is the world’s largest military air show.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George were color-coordinated for the occasion. William, 34, opted for beige chinos, white shirt and navy blazer. Kate looked stylish as ever in a blue Stella McCartney dress, Hello reports.
She paired her pencil dress with a navy Smythe blazer and nude court shoes. The shift dress is a recycled one, which Kate wore to watch the tennis matches during the 2012 Olympics. She accessorized with drop earrings and her engagement ring.
Her makeup consisted of smoky eyes and pink lipgloss. Kate left her long brunette locks loose over her shoulders. Her tresses were styled into her favorite blow-dry and held it together with what appeared to be an Alice band which she was previously seen sporting during a family day out at the Houghton Horse Trials in Norfolk in May.
Kate attended the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets in her capacity as the patron of RAF.
