Pretty Little Liars’ Troian Bellisario To Star In ‘Sister Cities’ With Castle’s Stana Katic And Michelle Trachtenberg
“Pretty Little Liars” star Troian Bellisario has been confirmed to star in the upcoming independent film “Sister Cities” along with “Castle” lead actress Stana Katic, “Silver Linings Playbook” actress and two-time Academy Award nominee Jackie Weaver, “The Good Wife” actress Jess Weixler and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Gossip Girl” actress Michelle Trachtenberg.
Also joining the cast is SAG nominee Alfred Molina along with Amy Smart and Tom Everett Scott. Furthermore, the movie will be directed by Sean Hanish, produced by Paul Jaconi-Biery, Sean Hanish and Eleonore Dailly and executive produced by Kelly Kahl and Alfred Molina.
Huffington Post has learned that Cindy Crawford’s 13-year old daughter Kaia Gerber will be joining the cast. Hanish has told Huffington that he was impressed with Gerber’s audition.
He said, “Kaia blew me away in her audition. Her instincts and maturity are impressive for her age.”
Meanwhile, Hanish has also said how much he looks forward to directing her. He remarked, “I’m thrilled to cast her [Gerber] and very excited to direct her in her film debut. She has a very bright future.”
Based on a play written by Colette Freedman, “Sister Cities” is a movie that “tells the story of four estranged sisters, as different as the cities they were named after, who reunite to mourn after their mother’s alleged suicide.”
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop reports that the indie movie started filming earlier this month in Altadena, California. The first day of filming for the movie though, was anything but smooth as a location scout reportedly spotted a rusty grenade. Hanish had then reportedly called the on-set fire officials. Afterwards, the police and bomb squad were also called in to the filming area.
As this happened, production of “Sister Cities” had to be halted for about two hours. During that time, actresses Katic, Smart, Bellisario and Weixler had to be evacuated. On the other hand, Trachtenberg and Molina were reportedly not around at the time. Meanwhile, production for the movie resumed the moment the grenade was removed from the premises.
Although there is no official word on when the movie will be coming to theaters, Gossip Cop reports that “Sister Cities” is slated to be released sometime next year.
