Pretty Little Liars season 6 mid-season premiered January 12, 2016. Despite helping Alison get Charlotte out of jail, their decision to go back may not be such a good idea as a new A surfaced.
During an interview with Zap2it, Lucy Hale, the actress who portrays Arya, revealed, “Pretty much everything stars unraveling when we arrive back in Rosewood. They’re definitely hesitant, none of them want to go back. They want to leave that life behind them.”
She added, “I will say the new ‘A’ is much more mature, a little funnier, but deadlier. It’s not like, ‘I’m gonna expose your secret’. It’s ‘I’m gonna kill you’ so the stakes are heightened.”
Sasha Pieterse, the actress who portrays Alison in the series also added, “It’s a classier ‘A’ because whoever this is has so much more power.” In fact, Zap2it referred to the new villain as an old friend.
“Pretty Little Liars” executive producer Joseph Dougherty also revealed, “With this five-year jump, we are even more saying hello to a kind of long-term Stephen King story. He will tell you a story about kids who go through something, a trauma, and the second half of the story is how they’ve carried that into their life.” He added, “That’s where we are now. They’re informed by what happened to them.”
In other news, it was revealed by Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer in the series, stated, “I may have been let in on some secrets but I’m not allowed to talk. The writers room has been very trusting of me over the years and has let me in on some major plotlines.”
She added, “As always, the very exciting moments are the details and how the stories are told, and for that, I am just as in the dark as everybody else is. I think they also have no idea at this point… they get back together at the end of this month. They’re gonna figure out Season 7. They don’t even know.”
Well, at least she hinted that there would be a new character labeled as B, and that her character may already know about the new, notorious A.
