‘Pokemon Go’ Tips: How To Master Pokemon Gym In 5 Steps?
You may have become a master in catching Pokemon. But have you learned to successfully master the Pokemon Gym yet? If not, these tips are bound to come in handy.Advertisement
Just like the Pokemon anthem, which describes the act of catching Pokemon as the “real test” and training them as the “cause”, becoming the mastering a Pokemon Gym is equally important as hunting down rare Pokemon.
The Pokemon Gyms are places where your Pokemon learns the art of battle and eventually helps you earn Pokecoins if you managed to lower the Prestige of a Gym to zero, defeat all your opponents and take over a particular gym.
However, there is a big difference between catching Pokemon and battling in Pokemon Gyms. While you accomplish the former alone and is counted as your individual achievement, the latter is done as part of a team.
Once you have crossed level 5, you will be able to choose one of three teams – Valor (red), Mystic (blue), and Instinct (yellow). Contrary to the big lecture that Professor Willow gives everyone at the time of choosing a team, it’s really all about picking your favorite color!
You also may want to check out what team your friends before choosing. This will come in handy when you attack a Gym. Here are some of the tips that will help you gain maximum benefit through Pokemon Gym:
‘Pokemon Go’ Tips
Tip #1: Since it’s a team effort, instead of trying to take over a Gym alone, you might want to consider attacking a Gym with your teammates. This makes it easier to win matches and transforms the color of the Gym into your team’s color, reports The Guardian.
Tip #2: Think twice before committing your best Pokemon as a defender after winning over a Gym. That Pokemon will be locked (means, you won’t be able to use it to fight battles in any other Gyms) and disappear from your inventory unless it loses to another Pokemon and comes backs to your inventory again, reports Tech Insider.
Tip #3: Instead of moving around fighting in different Gyms at the same time, focus all your energy on trying and bringing down the prestige of a single Gym. While fight Pokemon battles simply reward you 100 XP, the Pokemon that you commit as a defender Pokemon after you take over a Gym, earns you Pokecoins every 21 hours, which you cannot earn elsewhere.
Tip #4: Choosing the right kind of Pokemon might make or break a match. For example, Fire Pokemon usually defeats a Grass Pokemon. Likewise, Ground Pokemon are weak against Flying Pokemon. So analyze your opponent’s Pokemon and select your Pokemon accordingly.
Tip #5: Committing a Pokemon into a Gym that has already been won by one of your Teammates prior your arrival is not a bad idea. It’s a good opportunity to increase the fighting talents of your Pokemon and earn easy XP.
