Virtual Reality is currently the new frontier in gaming and the Playstation VR is SONY’s flagship into this new world. The device is set for release this October 13th 2016 and is now available for pre-order.


The device is powered by the Playsation 4 so if you already own one, you can immerse yourself in the Virtual Reality world in mere seconds. Just plug in, play, and experience the future of gaming.

According to the Playstation website, from the moment they put on the new Virtual Reality system for the PS4, players will experience games in a whole new way. They will feel as if they’re inside the game itself.

The headset dimensions is around 187×185×277 mm (W x H x L) with the processor unit around 143×36×143 mm. The combined weight of the Playstation VR is around 975 g (headset and processor unit).

View your new reality in the device’s 5.7 OLED display in full 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 100 degree field of view. Blur the line between gaming and reality with the processor unit’s various functions. This includes 3D audio processing, Social Screen (mirroring mode, separate mode), and Cinematic mode.

Despite all this tech, the headset is designed as to feel as if you’re wearing nothing. The headset offers a seamless fit which also evenly distributes it’s weight.

There is currently a small number of PS4 games custom built to cater to the device. RIGS Mechanized Combat League and VR Worlds are among them.
