Pitch Perfect 3 is one of the most awaited movies and Adam DeVine is weighing the possibilities of getting Zac Efron and Aubrey Plaza on board.
Looks like they are a team now with Anna Kendrick already in the casting. The co-stars in “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” seemed to have a lot of fun during the shooting and DeVine is willing to have more of it. While Plaza would be fit for the snarky Barden Bella, DeVine said Efron can be Bumper’s younger brother.
“I think what’s going to happen is they haven’t invited me back to the movie yet,” the Teen Vogue quoted DeVine as saying. “I think they’re slow playing it, but they’re going to get rid of Bumper and they’re going to say Bumper’s younger brother stepped in and took his place. And it’s going to be Zac.”
However, Efron thinks he simply doesn’t stand a chance. “Not a chance,” he said. “I don’t think I could. When he does it, it’s great. It’s just so funny when you do it. When I do it, it’s just like…is it serious, is it not?”
After High School Musical and Hairspray, Efron’s talents for a musical have been proven, but he could be saving it for his role in the upcoming “The Greatest Showman on Earth.”
On Fox and Chernin Entertainment’s “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” DeVine and Efron play brothers who post an ad on Craigslist in hopes of finding a date for their sister’s wedding. But the hard-partying brothers ended up with two troublemakers played by Kendrick and Plaza, who turn out to be wilder than they are, Hollywood Reporter revealed.
However, Kendrick could be dropping out from Pitch Perfect 3 due to several delays. She opened up about the movie during an interview with a New York Magazine, via Vulture, in which she said, “I do not know if I am going to end up in a total tailspin; I like the pace, but I feel like it is not really sustainable.”
