Detroit Pistons were 13 points down heading into the final quarter against Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night. Andre Drummond led a terrific comeback, and the Pistons outclassed the Blazers 41-11 in the 4th quarter to pull off a convincing 120-103 win.

Reggie Jackson scored 26 in the final quarter. Drummond was special, with 29 points and 27 rebounds. Jackson returned with a career-best 40 points. Such performances were required so as to bounce back from an awkward situation and snatch a win for Pistons for the first time since 2007. The team had a 24-0 run in final quarter.

”The funny thing is, when I was scoring I felt like we were scoring. I saw the ball going in the basket but I didn’t necessarily know it was myself putting the ball in there a lot,” Jackson said after guiding his side home. ”The team was just moving the ball, great screens which allowed me to get open, and I tried to be aggressive.”

Detroit made a 5-1 start, their best since the 2007-08 season.

Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy also hailed his side’s win by saying, ”I’ve coached a long time and have never been part of a fourth quarter like that.”

Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 26 points and 11 rebounds. But Portland’s three-match streak ended at home as they were left clueless in the fourth quarter against Detroit’s aggression.
