What's This?

In a powerful letter written by the victim, she thanked two men for saving her and that even if she has yet to meet them, they are her heroes in this story. Here’s everything Morning News USA knows about these two men.

“Thank you to the men who saved me, who I have yet to meet. I sleep with two bicycles that I drew taped above my bed to remind myself there are heroes in this story. That we are looking out for another. To have known all of these people, to have felt their protection and love, is something I will never forget,” Brock Turner rape victim wrote in the letter she read aloud to Brock Turner in court.

The victim also wrote that she was told one of these two men was crying, seeing her hapless condition at the time.

She was talking about Carl-Fredrik Arndt and Peter Jonsson, two Swedish graduate students (see photos below).

According to reports, the two men were riding their bicycles when they saw Turner raping the victim. They immediately recognized something was terribly wrong as he was moving a lot while the woman lay motionless on the ground.

Arndt and Jonsson called out Turner who immediately ran away. One of them chased him down and seized him until police arrived and arrested him.

“We saw that she was not moving, while he was moving a lot. So we stopped and thought, ‘This is very strange,” Arndt told a Swedish newspaper as reported by BuzzFeed.

According to his Linkedin page, Arndt was taking up his Ph.D in computational and mathematical engineering at Stanford University at the time of the incident. He is set to graduate this year. He has undergraduate degree in economics at Sweden’s Linköping University. He has worked as a quantitative research summer associate at J.P. Morgan in New York. He was also a teaching assistant at Stanford University for two years.

Jonsson on the other hand was finishing his master’s degree in management science and engineering at Stanford University when the crime happened. He is also set to graduate this year.
