Kate Middleton’s fashion choices have always made headlines for her simplicity yet elegant style. The Duchess of Cambridge is again making headlines after the Daniel Craig’s “Spectre” premiere, this for a slightly different reason.
The Duchess may have felt a competition having Bond Girls Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux and Monica Belucci present during the night that she somehow gotten a little too daring than usual. Princess Kate was braless underneath her sheer back ensemble she donned for the event. She was wearing a see-through bluish dress with crystal-embellished belt made by Jenny Packham, Daily Mail reported.
The Duchess accessorized it with a clutch also made by Jenny Packham. To complete her look, she wore aquamarine Robinson Pelham chandelier earrings and on her feet were Jimmy Choo platform sandals.
Elsewhere on Twitter the Duchess of Cambridge was hailed as the ultimate Bond Girl. Tweets seen by Yahoo were from fans thrilled seeing the princess a little bolder than before. “Kate Middleton is so the next Bond woman after arriving like that!” Mark O’Connel tweeted. “Kate with the hair up and that gorgeous ethereal dress, just what I needed today,” Jacqueline McCormick posted.
USA Today, however, was not impressed. “A Rare Fashion Flop for Duchess Kate,” reads the headline. “The wrap-style top seemed too loose for her non-Kardashian-style torso. And it was a boring, washed-out blue. Her hair was pulled up in an elaborate up-do that seemed a little…old for her (she’s 33),” Maria Puente wrote.
“Spectre” is the third James Bond film chosen as a Royal Film Performance. Prince Harry and Prince William joined Middleton on the red carpet.
