‘Outlander’ Season 3 Air Date & Spoilers: So Jamie & Claire Reunite, Then What?
Fans can certainly cannot wait for “Outlander” Season 3!Advertisement
“Outlander” Season 2 finale just aired with an action-filled episode. “Dragonfly in Amber” lasted for 90 minutes but fans still feel that it was quite too short and too emotional.
Here is a recap of what we know so far about “Outlander” Season 3.
Jami and Claire will reunite
“Outlander” producer claimed that it is not a matter of if it will happen, but how, when and where. The reunion after 20 years is a shoo-in.
However, co-executive producer Maril Davis said fans should not expect things between Jamie and Claire will still be the same.
“People expect that if they were to just see each other, things will fall back easily into old habits. That doesn’t happen. Twenty years is a long time, and they both met when they were very young. So we’re talking about, “How are they different? How does that change them?” the producer told Vulture.
The producer added that fans’ adoration of Claire and Jamie can make them expect things that are not really suited for reality, at least on “Outlander” Season 3’s reality.
“Outlander” Season 3 will have more of Geillis & Laoghaire
According to Davis, Geillis will be much more humane on Season 3. Even though she did a lot of bad things, she will still see Claire as a true friend.
Moreover, Davis dished that no matter what fans feel about Laoghaire, they will still see her more in season 3. She’s not going to be a super villain but she will not redeemed either for all the bad things she did.
“Outlander” Season 3 will show aged John Grey and Fergus.
Davis revealed that they are currently looking for actors to play the older versions of some characters. Unfortunately, some characters will not have older versions anymore because they won’t be part of this time.
“We haven’t actually started looking at anyone, but we’ll be starting fairly soon. It’s the ones that will stay with us for hopefully many years — Marsali, older Fergus — who are trickier. Some won’t make it, of course,” he said.
“Outlander” Season 3 will be like the books, but not really
Davis said that as much as they want to make sure the series do not deviate from the books, they want to keep the show fresh. The show has been striving to do that since “Outlander” season 1.
“In some ways, it should be like the books, but telling the TV version should be fresh. Even for book fans, you want to give them what they want, but in a different way sometimes. We want try to do that for season three as well,” he said.
“Outlander” Season 3 Filming On August, Airing 10 Months From Now
According to Zap2It, filming for Season 3 will take place some time in late August and early September. Showrunner Ron Moore himself revealed this. He also said that shooting will not be restricted to Scotland as the story will revolve around a sea voyage.
When it comes to the air date, nothing is confirmed yet. Based on rumors, there may be a 10-month wait before “Outlander” Season 3.
