Who do you think would be tasked to bring more excitement to the prestigious awards night? Would it be “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr.?
In the latest predictions, the name of the 51-year-old actor was mentioned as among those who might be considered for the job. It is worth noting that if ever he would be picked by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Oscars 2017 would be his first hosting stint for a major event.
According to Gold Derby, Robert Downey Jr. might just be the “charming” host that the Academy has been eyeing on.
Based on the poll which the entertainment site hosted relative to the fans’ take on who should host the Academy Awards 2017, it turned out that someone else is on top of their choices.
The result revealed that 61.48 percent of the total number of voters would like to have Ricky Gervais as the Oscars 2017 host. Meanwhile, the “Captain America: Civil War” just got 1.4 percent.
However, with still a few more months left before Oscars 2017, would Robert Downey Jr.’s staunch supporters work double time for him to become the successor of Chris Rock as host of one of Hollywood’s biggest film event? Do they have the voice to influence the Academy’s decision?
This is something that everyone has to wait for.
In the meantime, The Hollywood Reporter failed to include the name of the “Chaplin” star as among the possible hosts of next year’s Academy Awards.
It must be noted, though, that the names that appeared in the report were of those who reportedly expressed their desire to host Oscars 2017. Among them were Danna Brunetti and Kevin Spacey.
