Is “Orphan Black” season 5 really the show’s last? Can the disappointed fans hope for a spinoff?

After the cliffhanger finale of the “Orphan Black” Season 4, a number of speculations on what the upcoming season would bring have been making headlines.

The showrunners have been firm that the popular TV series should end while it is still being perceived positively as opposed to when people cannot stand it anymore, but had they cancelled the show too soon?

Is an “Orphan Black” spinoff a better alternative?

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Manson admitted that there have talks about it after “Orphan Black” season 5.

“Yes, there has been some loose talk of that, but I can’t say where it’s at right now,” he shared. “We’re completely consumed with this.”

“We’ve always jokingly said we ‘d love to do a movie, but those aren’t things that, at this point, that we know are going to be happening at all,” he added. “I think we’re looking forward to a rest.”

Meanwhile, Manson disclosed that he and Fawcett have been cracking their heads already on where they would bring the show’s characters during “Orphan Black” season 5.

“John and I have been on the phone and we’ve been spending a little time on it as we sort of cross paths between Toronto and Vancouver this spring,” he narrated. “We’ve been grabbing our time on Skype and in person and we already have some pretty juicy ideas of where everybody lands and where we kick off next season.”

The co-creators also revealed to Entertainment Weekly earlier this month that an “epic conclusion” has been set for Sarah Manning, the role portrayed by Tatiana Maslany, and her clone.

“We are excited to deliver an epic conclusion to the tale of Sarah and her clone sisters,” they said about “Orphan Black” season 5. “The past four seasons have been a phenomenal adventure and we are eternally grateful to our loyal fans who have loved the twists and thrills of our weird little show. “

They also expressed their gratitude for Temple Street, BBC America and Space for their support.
