Orlando Magic Confirms Tobias Harris For $64 Million, 4 Year Deal
Tobias Harris is returning to Orlando Magic.
Orlando Magic has secured the services of Harris for $64 million, according to sources.
Harris became a restricted free agent this summer, as he and Orlando failed to finalize an extension within October 31 last season. The Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers had also shown keen interest in Harris, according to sources.
At 6-foot-8, Harris averaged 17.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 34.8 minutes per game last season. Harris displayed considerable improvement in shooting 3 pointers, an increase of 11 % to 36.1 % on target from beyond the arc. The 22 year old established himself as one of the best small forwards.
Harris was a first round draft pick out of Tennessee in 2011. He spent 2 years with the Bucks before joining Magic in 2013. The most talented wing player of restricted free agency spent the first three days of July in negotiation on a long-term deal with Orlando.
Harris has career averages of 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.
