Oppo R9: Successor Of The R7 To Launch By March 17
Oppo is on a roll. Just last month, it made the news for not unveiling a new phone in the recent Mobile World Congress but revealing a new technology instead. The technology it has discovered is said to be solving the charging dilemma that about a half or a third of smartphone users are having. It involves a charging technology where a phone can be fully charged within 15 minutes. And after not having any phones in the said event, it now has plans to launch its latest offering this March and it will be called the Oppo R9.Advertisement
Around China’s subway and bus stations, Gizmochina reports that there are advertisements with the famous Chinese actor and singer pointing to a covered phone. Some details regarding the said mobile device accompany the poster. The advertisements also reveal the date of the launching to be this March 17.
It was also revealed through one of the flagship’s teaser posted on Oppo’s Weibo account that the latest device’s highlight could be its camera. Gadgets 360 uncovered and translated the teaser which reads “This time, it is worth and other ‘9’ point. #OPPO New camera phone R9 #.” It is also revealed that Oppo R9 could be the successor of the R7 phone, which was released last year.
The latest to join the ever growing smartphone collection of Oppo, the R9 is speculated to have a 6-inch QHD display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. It will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. It will have an internal storage of 64GB which is expandable and a RAM of 3GB or 4GB.
It might also be sporting a 21 megapixel rear shooter and a 13 megapixel front shooter. It is also speculated to be powered with a 3,700 mAh battery and might be the first phone to house the company’s recently announced Super VOOC fast charging technology.
Tech analysts have predicted that the Oppo R9 phone might mirror the design of the iPhone 6s reports IBT Times. The phone could be priced from $350 USD to $400 USD.
