What's This?

OnePlus is best known for going the extra mile when shipping its devices. The company does not just give out plain vanilla Android; they also come with OxygenOS. Now, it appears the latest version is equipped with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

Regardless of what people say, it is still Android, and now OnePlus is bringing what most users are looking for: the Marshmallow version. The company is now soak testing the Android 6.0 update. Furthermore, the Android 6.0 update will be incorporated in the OxygenOS 3.0.

According to Android Police, a reader reached out to the publication and provided screenshots of the said update. The images do not just confirm the phone is operating Android 6.0 Marshmallow; rather, people will also see several tweaks OnePlus has installed into the ROM.

The images feature home screen customizations, slider for alerts, and new wallpapers. The beginning of March saw the release of the Oxygen 2.2.1 to OnePlus 2. It should be a matter of time before Marshmallow lands, and people are expecting it to be the real deal.

On top of the current Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates and releases going on, Google is busy preparing for the release of the Android N. Several reports have already revealed the features of the said update. Now, the update is available via new factory images. Given this, it should be just a matter of time before the OTA arrives.

According to Droid Life, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P updates are set via the build NPC56W while the Nexus 9 is getting NPC56X. There aren’t new files yet for the remaining Nexus line-up. A new update from the site also noted that devices already received the OTA. Users should receive the notification already. For others, they may have to wait a little more, depending on their model and region.
