One Direction Split 2016: Niall Horan Leaving 1D Like Harry Styles for Solo Career?
With Harry Styles signing a solo deal with the Columbia Records, there are rumors that Niall Horan will be the next member to partake in another One Direction split scenario. The boy band announced a break in March to the utter dismay of One Direction fans across the globe.Advertisement
However, according to an industry insider, Horan doesn’t have any plans of quitting at the moment. While on a break, the 22-year-old is busy with other businesses.
“Niall’s very happy for Harry and his recording deal, but he’s not thinking about a solo career himself at the moment,” the Hollywood Life quoted a source as saying. “He’s concentrating on his golf business right now, because that’s something that’s always been a dream of his and he wants that to be a big success.
The source added, though, that Horan has his own songs that he has written. He has been using his guitar more than the usual during One Direction’s hiatus to craft his own songs. However, the popular band member is not keen on releasing the songs for himself but is open to licensing them to other singers.
Speculations over the possibilities of Styles contributing to the One Direction split and breaking off from the Simon Cowell label have been making the rounds for quite sometimes. It became apparent when he went on to register four songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Express reported.
Horan was the next to sign a solo deal with ASCAP, and the song was titled “Don’t Give Up On Our Love.” He clarified a month later that he was just trying out new materials, contrary to rumors suggesting that he will be recording a duet with Rihanna.
Zayn Malik, 23, was the first one to exit the group. But the decision worked well for him, as his solo career started off really well. The song “Pillowtalk” received rave reviews and continues to be a huge hit on YouTube.
