Ready to ride on a Mario train? How about a Zelda coaster?

Nintendo has announced today that it is all set to bring its iconic game characters to Universal theme parks.

What the company describes as “immersive experiences” involve Universal attractions featuring some of Nintendo’s beloved games and characters. According to the official release, Universal will assist Nintendo in developing “spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds.”

“The agreement brings two icons of entertainment together and represents a significant partnership for Nintendo as it expands the reach and popularity of its characters and intellectual property.”

It should be remembered that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata previously said in 2010 that the idea of a Nintendo-themed park was always being discussed.

For fans worried if a Universal partnership wouldn’t be able to pull it off properly, there is always the Capcom-themed attractions for “Monster Hunter” and “Resident Evil” for reference.

There are currently scarce details with regards to the attractions themselves, and curious gamers will have to wait for an indefinite amount of time before Nintendo and Universal announce something concrete.
