The split between Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell is now confirmed. The couple has officially called it quits, but is Chace Crawford behind it? According to E! News, the couple has dated for less than a year, but due to their tough schedule, they broke up.

While schedule is sighted as a reason, there is still some ambiguity. A source close to the couple said, “It started to get hard with both of their schedules,” adding, “They remain on good terms.” Sources have stated that the split happened between mid-January to February. Nina was seen with Chace Crawford, a long-time friend who is considered to be the possible reason.

The couple has not posted anything on Valentine’s Day. Even Nina chose to party with her girl gang with no men in the scene. She posted a photograph labeled “Happy GALantines day.'” She was holidaying in Hawaii with Jessica Stam and Jessica Szhor some days ago.

Nina posted a number of snaps of her and Austin Stowell before, the Daily Mail reports. In January, she posted a snap showing them kissing. However, that was one of the last snaps of the couple.

The Vampire Diaries actress previously dated Derek Hough and her co-star on the show, Ian Somerhalder. Last year, when Nina split with Ian, she mentioned, “I’ve said this before, that we didn’t break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn’t love or friendship.”

She also once mentioned, “I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he’s great and I care about him. And that didn’t change. Yes, we’re professional and that’s fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now.” The speculation of the split between Nina and Austin became evident when she was present in the Super Bowl without her man.
