According to Hollywood Life, Jelani was indicted in April. The jury decided that there was enough evidence to charge Jelani with the sexual abuse charges of a child. Nicki has never mentioned the charges openly or addressed the situation in public but it has been reported that she is doing everything to help her brother, including begging the President.
The sexual act against a child, endangering the welfare of a child is a serious predatory offense in the United States. This will mean twenty more years of prison for Minaj’s brother if she fails to secure a pardon.
Jelani was arrested for this charge last December but was released the same day, as per Hollywood Life sources. Nicki Minaj secured her short-term freedom then. The rap queen offered a bail of $100,000 and put her New York homes as collateral for the bond. She’s willing to do so much more.
When Nicki Minaj and other rappers were invited to the White House by the President that the rapper approached President Barack Obama with a plea to pardon her brother.
As per Olisa TV, Nicki and the President are going to talk more about this charge. The President will leave office in the month of January before which he can pardon Jelani and then leave office. Once that happens no one can say anything about the matter.
Of course, the sources have to add, it is not clear whether the President will yield to such matters before he leaves office. Minaj is not shy to admit what she has done. After meeting with President Obama, she tweeted. “Met with President Obama today to discuss a few things that happen to be very dear to my <3 . I am#MyBrothersKeeper.”
Jelani, in spite of all charges of felony against him for sexual assault, had appeared at the New York, Nassau County Court pleading Not Guilty. He will again appear in court on May 26.
