Antonio Armstrong, former NFL player, and Miami Dolphins’ star was reportedly shot dead by his own teenage son on Friday. His wife met the same fate.


Described as an “all-American family”, Antonio Armstrong had a wife and 3 children, with whom he had built a perfect little haven in Bellaire, Texas. Everyone who knew him, including the local police, is shocked to learn that Antonio’s own son ended up shooting his own parents.

While Antonio’s wife, Dawn, was killed on the spot, Antonio was rushed to the Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he succumbed to death due to a bullet wound on his head reports, NBC News.

Antonio Armstrong and wife were the main and sole targets

Even though the NFL player’s two other children were there during the time of the crime, none of them were harmed by the assailant.

The murder can be planned a long time ago

A note with the message “I’ve been watching you” was discovered on the scene, along with a smoking gun. As to who wrote the note or how it is connected to the murder is still unknown.

However, ccording to WetPaint, there were no signs of a struggle and Antonio’s son even called the police after committing the crime. It has been undetermined whether it was a crime of passion or some other motive was involved.

The teenage boy is now being interrogated

The teenage boy who shot his parents is currently in the custody of the Houston Police and is being interrogated. The Police have refrained from revealing the name of the assailant due to him being a minor.

Anonio Armstrong will be remembered

An investigator with the Houston Police told KPRC that “He (Antonio) was an associate pastor in the area church. He’s a great guy. The mother (Dawn) was apparently a great mother, according to family members.”

Antonio Armstrong played for 3 years in his college football team, which was often called the “wrecking crew” by students. He joined the NFL in 1995 after becoming the Associated Press All-America linebacker in 1994.

He was released due to an ankle injury. He went on to play four matches under the Miami Dolphins that season. The Miami Dolphins have extended a note of condolence to Antonio’s family for their tragic loss.
