Robert Griffin III will likely miss the entire season, while Josh McCown will be on the sidelines after hurting his shoulder. The QB situation revived talks about the possibility of signing free-agent quarterbacks this season.
Cleveland Browns Signing Mike Vick?
With the Browns lacking quarterback options, they are now being linked to a possible deal for Michael Vick. While there is no imminent deal at this point, FanSided noted that Vick could be a good option for Cleveland.
Vick failed to get a contract this summer after a lackluster season with the Pittsburgh Steelers last year. In five games for the Steelers, the veteran quarterback completed 40 of his 66 passes for 371 yards but had just two touchdowns against an interception.

But while he failed to hit expectation last season, the report noted that he could still help the Browns this season. Aside from being a dual-threat playmaker, the 36-year-old could be the player who could provide the veteran presence they need inside the locker room.
“Cleveland may have a lot of issues in terms of personnel, but its young offensive weapons might need a veteran presence under center to bring out the best in them in 2016,” FanSided noted. “Vick would provide more locker room stability than what Griffin showcased while with the Washington Redskins.”
Who Will Start for Cleveland Browns Against Miami Dolphins?
But while they are still weighing their options moving forward, the Browns will likely settle for rookie quarterback Cody Kessler in their next game. Cleveland will look to end their two-game skid, when they collide with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
According to ESPN, Browns coach Hue Jackson is still optimistic that McCown will be able to return this season. But for now, Cleveland will pin their hopes on Kessler, who was drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Kessler will reportedly be the 26th starting quarterback for the Browns since the 1999 NFL season.
