Second overall pick of 2011 draft, Miller has established himself as the best pass rusher of the league. Miller will be wearing the franchise tag before the long-term deal. If he hits the market, Miller would easily become the most sought-after player in free agency, according to ESPN.
Miller is set to become the most expensive player of the League. The Denver Broncos won the title by virtue of its impregnable defense, and Miller was a stand-out performer.
“The goal is always to get a long-term deal,” John Elway said. “That goes into the same process of trying to include everybody. Looking at it from the 20,000 foot view of how this team is going to look not only next year but two, three years down the line. … Our goal is always to be competitive year in and year out and that’s what we want to do.”
Elway added that it is a priority to re-sign Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan.
