Will Peyton Manning retire? He hasn’t made up his mind on the issue and the question is still out there. How will this affect the Broncos?
Anticipating that the questions on his retirement are inevitable, Manning joked on the issue before starting his speech at the Florida Forum on Wednesday night, as reports the ESPN.
“Many of you have probably heard that I have a significant announcement to make, so I thought I’d go ahead and make it with all of you here tonight,” Manning continued. “Papa John’s is offering 50 percent off tonight through Friday.
“I’m sure that was the response you were looking for.” Manning’s agent Tom Condon clarified that his client is still undecided about his much discussed retirement. “To tell you the truth, I know that Peyton has not decided,” Tom Condon said, according to Real GM.
“The only thing he said is I want to take my time and I want to make a good decision. I don’t want to go back on anything,” Condon said of what Manning has told him. “And then he said, ‘I really like to play.’ And I said ‘OK, a year from now you’ll say I really like to play and 20 years from now, you’ll say I really like to play.'”
The Denver Broncos will now have to make a decision on their veteran superstar by Tuesday. The Broncos have stuck to their stance of giving Manning enough time to make a final call. But now the team is required to make a decision whether to trade him, release him or guarantee his $19 million contract.
