What's This?

The 37-year-old Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was an idol for many NBA stars. Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City Thunder is one of them. And Durant is frustrated how the media treated his idol over his retirement.

Bryant was candid with his expression. During meditation, his mind always drifted towards basketball. But this wasn’t something happening in recent times, which indicated Bryant that the time has come to hang his boots.

“To me, that was the first indicator that this game is not something that I can obsess over for much longer,” said Bryant while announcing his retirement on Sunday after his 20th NBA season.

Thunder forward Durant is angry over the way the media criticized his idol’s game this season. To Durant, Bryant is like Michael Jordan.

“I did idolize Kobe Bryant. I studied him, wanted to be like him,” Durant said Monday in Atlanta. “He was our Michael Jordan.”

“I’ve been disappointed this year because you guys the media treated him like s—. He’s a legend, and all I hear is about how bad he’s playing, how bad he’s shooting and it’s time for him to hang it up. You guys treated one of our legends like s—, and I didn’t really like it. So hopefully now you can start being nice to him now that he decided to retire after this year.”

Durant also added that Bryant and his team was going through a lean patch.
