What's This?

The Cleveland Browns have reinstated quarter back Johnny Manziel in the starting role. Browns removed Manziel, a fan favorite, from the sidelines as disciplinary action. Manziel had to undergo a two-match benching for his off-field missteps, according to ESPN.

Mike Pettine, Cleveland Browns’ coach, is yet to decide whether he would field Manziel as a starter in the next outing. Pettine clarified on Monday that he needs to talk to the team’s quarterbacks before making any decisions.

A team source revealed that Manziel will be replacing Austin Davis unless he hasn’t done anything to taint his own status between Sunday’s loss and Monday. Earlier, Manziel was demoted to team’s third QB after lying to the coaching staff about a viral video showing him partying at a Texas night club, as reported by Morning News USA.

The Browns face San Fransisco 49ers on Sunday at home. Manziel is expected to return in the starting line-up that night. Davis recorded 25-of-38 for 230 yards against Bengals without a touchdown on Sunday. He was sacked thrice in the game as the Browns succumbed to a humiliating defeat at the First Energy Stadium.

Josh McCown returned as a starter in week 12 but was again sidelined with a broken collarbone. Davis came in the side as his replacement.
