ISIS contained in Afghanistan as Taliban fractures. According to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Communication for NATO‘s Resolute Support Mission Army Brig. Gen. Wilson A. Shoffner, ISIS militants and fighters are now contained in the Nangarhar province, thanks to continuous strikes. Moreover, Afghan forces have also been successful in putting pressure on the Taliban, who are now fracturing into three separate groups. The NATO coalition now classifies ISIS as “operationally emergent” or unable to conduct operation in more than one part of Afghanistan at a time. Nonetheless, it is possible for some of the splintering Taliban members to join ISIS.
Iran may be looking to wipe out Israel with missiles. The country has reportedly test-fired two ballistic missiles on Wednesday, which have the range to reach Israel. Moreover, the missiles had the words “Israel Must Be Wiped Out” written in Hebrew. The test happened while U.S. Vice President Joe Biden was visiting Israel after coming into a nuclear deal with the U.S. According to the New York Post, the Qadr missiles were fired from the country’s eastern Alborz mountain range to hit a target approximately 879 miles off Iran’s coast and into the sea of Oman.
42 flights between U.K. and Iran to be available weekly. Iran’s state television is now reporting that Iran and the UK have committed to having 42 flights servicing passengers between the two countries weekly. According to a report from the Associated Press, each country will be allowed to maintain 21 flights to various destinations in the other country every week. Meanwhile, cargo flights will be unlimited. At the same time, British Airways said they shall be resuming flights to Iran in July.
