In Chicago’s Margarita Festival, a white woman was seen swinging at a black couple, saying the N-word while spitting at their direction.
The husband is a Chicago-based teacher. He said that he and his wife were victims of the outrageous racist attack by the woman. The woman was later identified as Jessica Lynn Sanders.
Ernest Crim III, the husband, recorded a video of the incident. He posted the video on YouTube and Facebook, hoping that it calls attention to the woman’s actions.
Ernest and Cassie Crim had been planning to enjoying Chicago’s Margarita Festival for months. It is an adults-only holiday in the city’s scenic South Shore, which happened on July 30 – 31, according to Identities.Mic.
The couple taught at a local high school. According to them, the event on Saturday would have acted as their final summer get-together before they went back to school.
In the 54-second video, Earnest could be seen asking the Sanders, “What’s your problem?” During that question, she slapped the phone used to record the video.
Earnest wrote on Facebook that he and his wife were trying to play the Bean Bag Toss game. He stated that their section did not have bean bags, so they took one thrown far by a group of four next to them. According to him, the group had at least 10 bean bags to themselves.
“One lady in that group (a white lady) called me and my wife a ‘n*gger.’ Additionally, she proceeded to spit on my wife in an effort to provoke us to assault her,” Earnest said.
“This is America in 2016. This is why I’m angry.”
He went on to say that he is thankful to security officials who grabbed her then and there. She was then handcuffed and was thrown out.
When they posted the video, the black couple is demanding for her arrest. Investigators are still looking into the ordeal, said Heavy.
