New Mugshot For Jodi Arias
The Arizona Department of Corrections has released a new mugshot of Jodi Arias, who was recently convicted in the 2008 murder of boyfriend Travis Alexander, shot and stabbed nearly 30 times. Jodi was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, hence ending a seven-year-long case of murder.
The new mugshot shows her dressed in an orange prison uniform with her hair tied in a ponytail, no glasses. The photo was released online and is widely circulated.
Arias is serving jailtime in Perryville State Prison Complex in Goodyear.
During the trial, Arias’ lawyer said she killed Alexander for self-defense, while prosecutors argued she killed Alexander out of jealousy and anger because he wanted to break up with her.
“To this day I can’t believe that I was capable of doing something that terrible,” Arias said on Monday’s trial.
During the testimony, Alexander’s sister, Samantha, called Arias a “monster” and believed she would be given rigorous punishment for the crime she committed.
