Movie goers were never tired of science fiction flicks and Hollywood has delivered some of the cult science fiction movies of all times. The new Netflix releases 2016 include a collection of 11 such futuristic movies that have captured the imagination of millions across the globe in their times.


The new Netflix releases 2016 list includes Galaxy Quest, Contact, Back to the Future Part 2, Star Trek: First contact and so on. Irrespective of the times when they were released, these movies on Netflix releases 2016 still makes a lot of sense.

Netflix now allows its subscribers to stream a long list of movies and enjoy them over again. Netflix brought the movies aboard for streaming at a time that coincides with the San Diego premiere of another much-awaited sci-fi movie, Star Trek Beyond, the Cinema Blend reported.

Galaxy Quest

The science fiction comedy film directed by Dean Parisot, involves the cast of a once-popular television show, the Galaxy Quest, who will have to play their roles to help a group of aliens seeking assistance against an alien warlord.

Back to the Future Part 2

With all the three parts now on Netflix, Back to the Future Part 2 is just a click away. Doc Brown makes off with Marty and Jennifer and the string of events that follow threatens to alter the course of human history if the hero doesn’t make the things fall back in place, the Cinema Blend reported.


The film is about a young scientist Dr. Ellie Arroway, who was fascinated by science since childhood. She receives radio signal from the space in a sequence of prime numbers that transmitted instructions on building a machine that would help establish the first step of communication between humans and other spacefaring species.


Yet another time-travelling movie, Primer involves two friends and a device that they build in their lab. Directed by Shane Carruth, the pitfalls and the drama in the storyline are what makes the movie different from the other time-travelling tales.
