NBA Trade Rumors: Nerlens Noel A Good Fit For Cavaliers, Warriors, Spurs?
Nerlens Noel continues to wait on his fate and until the Philadelphia 76ers pull the trigger, it looks like he will not be going anywhere.Advertisement
Noel has been in the center of trade rumors along with sophomore Jahlil Okafor. The Sixers have a cramped frontline and the belief is that the team will trade one of the two sometime this year.
Of the two, Noel has proven his worth. He is a proven rim protector and has a decent offensive arsenal. The Boston Celtics were one of the teams Noel reportedly wouldn’t mind joining. But what if he had the chance to join a championship-caliber team?
The top team he could end up with could be the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs could use some help in the middle especially with Timofey Mozgov gone. Tristan Thompson is around, but having Noel as an alternate could vastly improve their frontline.
The only problem here is who the Cavs may give up to acquire Noel from the 76ers. The Cavs are working on a tight budget so that could be an issue.
Golden State Warriors
A team heavily favored next season is the Golden State Warriors. Noel could toughen up the defense of the Warriors and blend in well with the running game. When not using the small-ball lineup, Noel could be a factor on both ends of the court.
San Antonio Spurs
With Tim Duncan retiring and David West out, Noel could be an interesting addition to the San Antonio Spurs. They did sign Pau Gasol, but everyone knows that the Spaniard is no longer as efficient as he used to be.
Gasol has not been spared from injuries so Noel could easily step up when called upon. Combining with LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs could have a patented frontline that could bring in multiple titles for years to come.
