What's This?

The Toronto Raptors are desperately seeking a power forward ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, according to latest NBA Trade Rumors.

It was revealed Monday that Toronto are willing to trade an asset or two for a quality presence at the 4 spot. “The Raptors are chasing a power forward this week. Sources say Brooklyn’s Thaddeus Young, New Orleans’ Ryan Anderson, Denver’s Kenneth Faried and the Phoenix duo of Markieff Morris and P.J. Tucker have all been pursued this month by the East’s No. 2 team,” wrote an ESPN report.

NBA Trade Rumors: Ricky Rubio Headed To Knicks?

Let us dig deeper into some of these possible trades:

Cory Joseph and Luis Scola for Kenneth Faried
ESPN Trade Machine: Approves
The Raptors would emerge as a stronger team if this trade goes down. While Joseph has been the ideal back-up to Kyle Lowry, Scola has hit timely shots with his ability to stretch the floor. However, Faried is an athletic 4 with enormous upside. Also, Faried has another three years left on his contract. The Raptors could be securing a power forward for an extended period.

Thaddeus Young for Patrick Patterson and Bismack Biyombo
ESPN Trade Machine: Approves
This isn’t a bad trade for either team. Biyombo, 23, has made great strides this season, especially on the defensive end. Patterson is a veteran and a locker room leader with a year left on his contract. With the Nets looking to push the rest button, this trade wouldn’t hurt them. Also, they would be wise to get rid of an aging Young, who still has three years left on his contract.

Markieff Morris and P.J. Tucker for Patrick Patterson and Luis Scola
ESPN Trade Machine: Approves
Morris is desperate to re-boot his career. The calm environment of the Great White North could help the troubled forward re-evaluate his priorities. Also, Tucker is seemingly unhappy with his role with the Pistons. Like stated before, the Rapots wouldn’t have too much to lose by giving up Patterson and/or Scola. Many feel that Morris is the most under-utilized talent in the league. The Raptors, who hold the no 2 seed in the competitive Eastern Conference, could provide the ideal setting for Morris.
