The Washington Wizards have taken a decision to sign Jarell Eddie. Wizards are going to waive Ryan Hollins to create room for Eddie, who featured for the Austin Spurs this season.
Eddie featured in Golden State training camp in October. He also signed briefly for the Atlanta Hawks last summer. He has averaged 14.1 points this season for the Austin Spurs with 52.1 percent shooting from the three-point range. Eddie has made his name as a sharp shooter in the NBA Development League.
Eddie is expected to sign a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Wizards. Center Ryan Hollins wasn’t in the best form this season. In the five games he featured this season, he posted an average of 9.6 minutes, 1.6 points and 2.2 rebounds.
The Wizards have been ravaged by injuries this season. And Eddie is expected to provide depth in the wings as well as shooting. Bradley Beal, Alan Anderson, Otto Porter and Gary Neal remain side-lined due to injuries.
6-foot-7 wing Eddie went undrafted in 2014 as a senior out of Virginia Tech. Then he won the three-point shootout award in 2015 after transforming his game in the D-League.
