What's This?

Still two months away from trade deadline in February, the New York Knicks already have ten contracts that will become eligible for trade from Tuesday. Knicks management want to make the most to improve their roster, as they eye to land Brandon Jennings from the Detroit Pistons.

According to sources closer to the Knicks’ camp, Phil Jackson will pursue free agents like Rajon Rondo, Mike Conley and Brandon Jennings next summer.

Players who will become available are Kristaps Porzingis, Jerian Grant, Derrick Williams, Robin Lopez, Kyle O’Quinn, Kevin Seraphin, Sasha Vujacic, Arron Afflalo, Lance Thomas, and Lou Amundson. The Knicks will retain Porzingis and don’t want to deal Lopez.

Brandon Jennings is one of the point guards who is fit now. Jennings is set to make his debut this season for the Detroit Pistons after recovering from an Achilles injury.

Jennings is a back-up guard for the Pistons. Reggie Jackson is starting for Detroit, and Jennings is in the third year of his three-year $15 million contract. The Knicks could trade off Jose Calderon to secure the services of Brandon Jennings. Calderon is a former Piston player. Rookie Jerian Grant could also be included in the package. Both Calderon and Grant are struggling for the Knicks.
