NBA Trade News: Houston Rockets, Montrezl Harrell Finalizing Three-Year Deal
Houston Rockets are on the brink of adding another name to their roster.
Harrell is expected to arrive in Rockets’ training camp later this week to start working out for this season. Harrell was a 32nd overall pick by the Rockets out of Louisville in the 2015 draft and he played in the Rockets team in the summer league in Vegas.
Though Harrell’s agent Chris Paul didn’t commented on the deal.
The 6-foot-7 inches power forward Montrezl Harrell delayed the negotiations with Rockets team as the rookie was eyeing a one-year deal which would make him a free agent at the end of this season when the salary cap will be increasing extensively.
Young Harrell has done something remarkable this season off-court. According to the Twitter account of Louisville’s sports information director Kenny Klein, he helped pull out a woman from an overturned car by kicking at the window and acquiring a fire extinguisher until emergency personnel arrived.
The rookie forward averaged averaged 15.7 points and nine rebounds last season, being a part of the 2013 national champion side of Louisville. He also averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds featuring for the Rockets’ side in this year’s summer league.
