NBA Trade News: Detroit Pistons Waive Forward Eric Griffin

Detroit Pistons have requested waivers of Eric Griffin. Forward Griffin was included in the training camp roster on September 28.


He featured for the Texas Legends in the NBA’s Developmental league last season. Playing in 49 games, the forward he averaged 19.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.4 blocks in 35.2 minutes.

Griffin, an Orlando native, played collegiate basketball at Campbell University. He was undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft.

Finally, the 6-foot-8 inches forward was placed on the waivers by Piston management. He practised with the Pistons team during a training camp but wasn’t able to play against the Indiana Pacers in Detroit’s preseason opener on Tuesday.

Pistons will now have four more to cut from their current 19-men squad before the regular season in order to reduce it to 15-men. Griffin earlier signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Pistons on September 13. Other NBA teams have time till end of Friday to sign the young forward.
