Kenneth Faried is continuosly being mentioned in numerous rumors over the past several weeks. The do-it-all forward will likely move to another team before the start of next season and is expected to help out any team’s campaign.
A previous post tackled on the possibility of seeing Faried hook up with the Cleveland Cavaliers. All that could go down before the start of the regular season. However, there are other teams who could crash the party like the Toronto Raptors.
Faried to Toronto Raptors?
Looking at their stint last season, the Raptors had a gaping hole in the frontline position. They did have Patrick Patterson in the mix but still lacked the depth to compliment their vaunted backcourt of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan.
They were one step close to making the NBA Finals, but overcoming the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals proved to be too much to handle.
Nevertheless, the fact is that the Raptors need to make necessary tweaks stand up to powerhouse teams like the Cavs and Faried could be the help that they need. Getting the 26-year-old will be easier said than done. It could require a multiple-team trade to materialize, which complicates things for the Raptors.
A sample three-team deal would involve the Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors. Players like Faried, Nerlens Noel, Terence Ross, Carl Landry, Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic would be involved.
Those are a lot of names to move, which could take time to materialize if the Raptors are looking to beef up their frontline. Other teams could get Faried without doing multi-deals, which puts the Raptors in a tough situation.
Faried hasn’t shone brightly for the Nuggets and trade rumors tied up to him are nothing new. With the Summer still ongoing, a deal for the athletic and energetic big man is possible.
