NBA News: LeBron James Gives Pep Talk In Cavs Players-only Meeting After Loss To Raptors

Following a 103-99 loss to Cleveland Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors held a players-only meeting on Thursday.

Following a 103-99 loss to Cleveland Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors held a players-only meeting on Thursday. LeBron James spoke to boost the other guys to get over the inconsistent play. James Jones also spoke with him.

“It’s all mindset,” a frustrated LeBron James said after the game. “It comes from within. I’ve always had it; my upbringing had me like that. It’s either you got it or you don’t.”

James rejected coach David Blatt‘s softer stance after the defeat and shared his piece of mind with his teammates. The Cavs have lost 4 games this season, all on the roads. Experts have raised the question of mental toughness of the team, and James tried to address that area in the meeting. The Cavs made a 11-4 start this season.

With 3:46 remaining in the third quarter until 2:01 in the fourth quarter, Toronto outplayed Cleveland 31-16 and snatched the game from them. David Blatt tried to absolve his players of any faults, given the fact that four key rotational players were missing. Tristan Thompson also pointed out the team’s soft attitude in the meeting.

“If we’re going to foul, we got to make it count,” said Thompson. “I’m not saying hurt anyone, but you can’t give up and-1s. That’s not acceptable. That’s on the bigs.”
