What's This?

Top prospects will fulfill their dream, while teams will move a step closer to winning a title in the NBA Draft 2016 on Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Philadelphia 76ers own the first overall pick and will have a chance to acquire an impact player in the draft. Based on NBA Draft 2016 predictions, the 76ers will settle for Ben Simmons, the consensus top pick in most mock drafts online. The former LSU standout will provide additional firepower to the rebuilding 76ers squad.

With Simmons considered as a lock for the first overall pick, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to settle for Duke standout Brandon Ingram. Recent Lakers rumors suggested that Los Angeles might trade the second overall pick, but they look set to keep it unless they receive a blockbuster offer on draft night.

Simmons and Ingram will surely end up as the first two picks in the draft. It will be a toss up from the third pick onward, as most teams will likely draft based on their needs instead of selecting the best possible prospect. Kris Dunn, Jaylen Brown, Marquese Chriss, Jamal Murray, Buddy Hield, Skal Labissiere, Dragan Bender are listed among the top 10 prospects in the NBA Draft 2016.

Aside from the picks, fans should also gear up for trades on draft night. The wheeling and dealing has already started on Wednesday with trades that sent All-Star guards Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague to new teams. The 76ers, Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets own three first-round picks, which they can use in trades on Thursday.
