“It feels like my leg being sawn apart,” Reem said.

“Will my foot grow back like before? I want my foot back.”

Reem is having a tough time trying to adapt to her new situation. Fortunately, she survived the shell blast, which happened just a meter away from her.

Reem had been given painkillers, but they were not effective enough. Currently, due to shortage of medicine, doctors can do little to alleviate her suffering.

Aleppo Syria News: Russia & Syria Pauses Bombing

Warplanes belonging to Russia and Syria paused their bombardment of rebel-held districts in Aleppo on Tuesday. According to Russia, the pause was an act of goodwill. This came ahead of the eight-hour unilateral “humanitarian pause” Russia promised for Thursday.

The ceasefire was implemented after residents lost focus due to the wrenching airstrikes. The attacks intensified over the past week, killing thousands of people everyday. One airstrike took the lives of 14 members of one family.

According to the New York Times, the duration of the ceasefire was yet to be known.
