Remember the stylish flip phone by Motorola that caught the eyes of mobile users back in 2004? Well, last month on YouTube, Motorola Mobility unveiled a video of what seemed to be a teaser for the classic Razr flip phone. While we hoped that Motorola reveal plans to integrate flip technology in upcoming smartphones soon, their announcement meant bad news.

While the advertisement is gaining more traction by the minute, Motorola’s spokesperson decided to shatter rumors about the return of flip technology. According to the Telegraph, he said, “We love how the throwback video has been embraced and the excitement it has generated.”

“The Razr was one of the most iconic phones ever designed and redefined how stylish a mobile phone can be. While Moto is not re-releasing the RAZR, we will transform mobile again on June 9.”

Motorola seemed to have released the video to analyze the trend of its innovative design in the present time. The company also revealed earlier that they would be showcasing new products for consumers. However, we still don’t have confirmation with the dates.

Smartphone geeks speculate the release of a new flip phone due to a study by IDC, a research firm. The reports on the parent company revealed setbacks on the shipment. A re-release of Razr was part of the report, as it said it could boost their sales.

Rumors suggested the flip phone would be running Android and fashion an all-metal design, along with the current trend of featuring a large screen. Unfortunately, it will remain a rumor till the end.
