Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres in less than a week on HBO. With all the spoilers and theories of what will happen, one character is on everyone’s mind: Jon Snow.
We last saw Jon Snow left for dead, stabbed by members of the Night’s Watch who didn’t agree with his position regarding the Wildlings. Since then, the debate has been ongoing on whether HBO will bring back the character in Game of Throne’s sixth season.
In an article by the Huffington Post, they analyzed clues regarding Jon Snow’s fate in the upcoming season. They asked cast members, staffs and even HBO president Michael Lombardo on whether or not Jon is dead and if he is, does he have a chance to come back?
Most of the cast believe Jon is definitely dead. Some, like Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell, even pointed out that there’s no chance anyone can live after that many stab wounds. But when they were asked if there’s a chance Jon Snow can come back, most were unsure.
Carice van Houten is unsure if her character will or can bring Jon Snow back from the dead. Van Houten plays Melisandre, a priestess of R’hllor, a god who has the power to revive the dead, as shown by Thoros of Myr, another servant of R’llor.
The only one who is firm on Snow being dead and staying dead is Owen Teale. He is saying that bringing him back will turn the show into a soap opera without an end in sight. Owen plays Ser Alliser Thorne who, interestingly, was among those who joined the stab-fest. Maybe he does hate Lord Snow to the extent of wanting the character to stay dead.
With the insiders on set hopeful that he will return, trailers and interviews will not reveal Jon Snow’s fate, and that is a fact. The only way to know what becomes of our beloved bastard is by watching Game of Thrones this April 24. After which, we will finally know if Valar Morghulis is true even for Jon Snow.
