Mom Delivers Surprise Baby On Air Canada Flight
It was the most memorable flight for Ada Guan, who flew with her boyfriend Wesley Branch. After two hours, she developed a stomach pain. To her surprise, she gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday over the Pacific Ocean on an Air Canada flight from Calgary, Alberta to Tokyo, according to Canada’s Global News. The baby was named Chloe.
A video posted on YouTube by Japan’s Fuji News Network shows Ada accompanied by her boyfriend, both filled with joy while making an exit from the plane. The couple is seen cuddling the newborn and waving to reporters.
“I couldn’t imagine. This happened completely unexpectedly. It turned out to be a beautiful baby girl,” Global News quoted Branch.
“She didn’t know what was happening to her,” Sandra, Branch’s mother said.
Guan had been moved to business class while doctors in-flight attended to her. They gave her Tylenol, which didn’t help.
Guan had the feeling something fell from her.
“I thought, ‘Oh, my God, I think we have a kid,'” Wesley said.
The delivery went smoothly. The passengers only came to know about it after the captain made an announcement.
“He said someone had just given birth to a baby. … He was wishing the best for the new baby,” quoted passenger You Eun Song.
Passengers clapped for the new born, said Song.
“We were pumped,” Song said.
Before heading for a holiday in Japan, Guan saw a doctor when she noticed she was gaining weight. She also underwent a pregnancy test, but it came out negative.
