Missy Elliot Comes Back To the Music Industry, Lands Millions Of Views For ‘WTF’ Track
Missy Elliot has the strongest come back by landing 13 million views for her latest music video on the track “WTF,” landed the cover of Billboard Magazine, and will be awarded the Inaugural Innovator Award for 2015 Billboard Women in Music.
As reported by 360 Nobs, Missy Elliot has disappeared from the music scene for quite some time. During an interview on Billboard Magazine, the Hip Hop artist revealed that she suffered Graves’ Disease while due to overworking which forced her to take a break from the music scene.
Elliot revealed that she had extreme headaches, weight loss and various physical changes that dismantled her from being able to withstand the many pressures of the industry. She added that being a public figure caused her tremendous amounts of stress and decided to take a leave.
However, she has been back in the music industry after overcoming her disease. On why it took her so long to reappear in the industry, Elliot stated, “I have to be very careful. It’s different now. People are quick to be like, ‘You’re irrelevant, you’re a flop, you’re washed up.” She added, “If I wanted to do The Missing Files of Missy Elliott, I have probably six albums just sitting there. But it was much needed. People hadn’t realized that I haven’t just been an artist, I’ve been a writer and a producer for other artists. When you’re writing that much, your brain is like a computer. You have refresh it.”
At present, BC Heights noted that Elliot’s latest music video, “WTF,” gained tremendous success by landing 12 million views for its first week of release. It was also reported that her successful comeback had to do with the influence of Pharrell Williams to the music video which elevated the “Queen of Hip Hop’s” new level of media attention which was an improvement from her previous music videos in the industry.
With an upcoming album set to release very soon, successful turnouts for her latest music video with Pharrell Williams entitled “WTF,” landing the cover of Billboard Magazine and due to receive the Inaugural Innovator Award for 2015 Billboard Women in Music, Missy Elliot does know how to make her comeback grand.
