Miss Australia 2015, Monika Radulovic, said the contestants knew something was wrong when Miss Colombia was announced winner during the Miss Universe 2015 coronation night. She revealed that the teleprompter indicated that Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, should take her first walk as Miss Universe.


The Miss Universe 2015 became the most controversial pageant in TV history. Host Steve Harvey mistakenly crowned Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez. He then went back onstage to apologize and declared Miss Philippines the real winner.

There is a Snapchat doing the rounds across social media. As previously reported by Morning News USA, the Snapchat shows Harvey telling somebody from the production that the teleprompter indicated Miss Colombia was the winner.

Miss Australia, however, saw something different. “We were standing on the stage behind the top three, and we saw on the teleprompter something saying ‘Philippines, take your first walk as Miss Universe’ so we had an inkling something was wrong. It was honestly like a movie,” she told The Daily Telegraph while managing a laugh. On a serious note, she said she feels for Miss Philippines. “Obviously it was a complete mistake. It was so awkward. It’s hard, if you’re the winner and some of that shine is taken away from you.”

Miss Australia graduated with an Honors Degree in Psychology, according to the official Miss Universe 2015 profiles page. She dreams of utilizing her passion and skills to assist children and adolescents grow as healthy, happy and confident adults. She is engaged to Alesandro Ljubicic.

Radulovic came fourth in the Miss Universe 2015. She was asked whether legalizing marijuana was a good idea. She said that “marijuana was really amazing in treating cancer.”

Nevertheless, Miss Australia said she is happy. Her experience competing for Miss Universe 2015 was incredible, she told The Daily telegraph. “I’m so proud of how I went. I came to be myself, and I answered the questions really honestly and felt great about it all,” she said.
