Miss Colombia 2015 Ariadna Gutierrez Finally Admits Defeat After Stubbornly Holding Onto The Crown
Miss Colombia 2015 Ariadna Gutierrez has finally moved on from the few minutes she was crowned Miss Universe 2015. She finally congratulated Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, and her country, the Philippines.Advertisement
The sudden development came a day after she posted an Instagram photo showing her wearing the crown with a shady caption. But it seems organizers will never hear the end of it from Colombians. Reports emerged that two Colombian lawyers are filing a case against the Miss Universe organization.
On Dec. 21, Miss Colombia 2015 Ariadna Gutierrez posted a photo of the brief moment she was crowned Miss Universe 2015. Her caption was “Por Siempre Tu Miss Universo!! Colombia!!!!!” in all caps. The caption translates to “Forever your Miss Universe.”
Colombians are not ready to move on. As previously reported by Morning News USA, there were several conspiracy theories swirling around the country. There was a YouTube video which allegedly shows a mystery woman slipping an envelope to Steve Harvey’s hand before he went back onstage to correct his mistake. Some even believe Donald Trump is still behind the whole fiasco.
On Tuesday, ABC’s WGNO reported that two attorneys from a Colombian law firm are filing a lawsuit against the Miss Universe 2015 organizers. The lawyers believe that “the crown is an acquired right that cannot be taken away from us.” The hashtag “The Crown Must Be Respected” had trended in Colombia, according to the report.
Wurtzbach, meanwhile, reached out to the Latino community. “I hope I didn’t upset anybody, especially the Latino community and the fans of Miss Colombia,” Wurtzbach was quoted as saying by TMZ. “I’m the voice of Miss Universe now, and I’d like to send my apologies for any confusion that happened. I hope this doesn’t affect your relationship with Miss Universe or your relationship with the Filipino community as well.”
On Dec. 23, Miss Colombia 2015 Ariadna Gutierrez finally admitted that she lost the Miss Universe 2015 crown. In an Instagram post, she congratulated the Philippines for their new Miss Universe. “The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible,” she said in her caption. “I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes… Today because of that Colombia and the Latin Community are being talked about in every corner of the world.”
