Minecraft Is Finally Coming To Nintendo Wii U

It looks like the holiday season is bringing gamers lots of joy. Sony and Microsoft are already offering a number of deals and discounts on their games as well as consoles and subscriptions. And now, here comes good news for Wii U owners.


Gaming consoles aren’t new to Minecraft. A disc-based version of this game is already available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PS4. As mentioned in one of the posts published on Wired, Minecraft was among the “10th-best-selling retail title in the United States in September.” How can Wii U skip the game then? Nintendo and Mojang have confirmed that Minecraft is coming to Wii U. The game will be made available on December 17 through Wii U’s digital store for $29.99.

The Wii U version of Minecraft will bring along some branded content like Dr. Who and The Simpsons. Popular add-on packs that are already available on other consoles will also be included. Listed below are the contents that will be included in your pack.

Nintendo in its announcement also said that apart from the content that comes with Minecraft, you can also get 16 more add-ons. These can be purchased at the Nintendo eShop during the launch. Here is the content, as listed on the official Nintendo’s site:

Nintendo in its post also said that apart from the content and add-on packs mentioned above, “Nintendo and Mojang are also collaborating on new content for Nintendo fans to be released at a future date. More details about this content will be released at a later time.”
