Nintendo’s much awaited Miitomo mobile app released in Japan on March 17th and now the news is that the app is making its way to the United States along with many other countries today that is, on March 31st, 2016. Ummm one second… Can you please check your Google Play and let us know whether Miitomo is already available there?

If not, then we suspect that this is nothing more than an April Fools’ Day prank. Whenever any publication says that an app or a device is launching in other countries, they make sure the countries are named so that readers know whether they will be benefitted by the release or not. But while giving out the news, Business Wire wrote, “On March 31, Miitomo, the company’s first-ever smart device application, is launching in the United States and several other countries.” This states uncertainty. We are not saying that Business Wire is trolling us as the main source of the story is unknown, or at least we are unaware of the original publisher of this Miitomo mobile app release in the U.S. story.

According to a report published by Wired, Miitomo mobile app is “doing quite well in Japan, currently sitting at #1 on both the Apple and Google Play app stores and surpassing 1 million users in 3 days.” This app is definitely a hot property right now and coming up with an April Fools’ Day prank that involves the app means successfully fooling at least half the world. Why half the world? Remember, the Miitomo mobile app is releasing in “several other countries,” so everyone would now wonder if their country is on the list.

Having said that, in case this story is not a prank, go to your Google Play store once again and keep checking for Nintendo’s Miitomo mobile app. It might come to your country a little later than the United States. And if you are a U.S. resident and do not find the app in the Play Store, kindly leave a comment below.
