Microsoft is taking it one step at a time, especially when it comes to the latest Windows 10 phones, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. These smartphones running on Microsoft’s latest operating system were not immediately made available in all countries. Now, as the company starts selling these devices to other regions, not all Windows 10 phone features are available. One such feature is “Hey Cortana.”

The good news is that Canadians can now enjoy Cortana, one of the most popular Windows 10 features on Lumia 950. You can now activate Cortana on your Windows 10 Lumia phone with a voice command. Slowly, by releasing firmware updates, Microsoft is bringing “Hey Cortana” to regions where devices were launched only without the key features. Australia is another country that received Microsoft Cortana recently. Chances are high that Cortana has not been activated on all Lumia handsets in Canada.

One thing to keep in mind is that this feature may drain your battery a bit too fast. As written on Microsoft’s page, here is how to train Cortana to respond to your device:

  1. On the start screen, swipe from the top of the screen, tap ALL SETTINGS > Hey Cortana > train, and follow the instructions.
  2. Once you have trained Cortana to recognize your voice, switch Hey Cortana to Onbasic icon toggle on 8 10 1 Microsofts Hey Cortana Comes To Windows 10 Phone, Lumia 950 In Canada. Cortana is now trained to respond to your voice when you say Hey Cortana.
